Easier Than Ice Cream
Easier than eating ice cream!
Guys, this is so amazingly awesome. It's been around for almost a year, so I'm super sad that I didn't know about it earlier.

Yep, Blingo is easier than eating ice cream. No offers to sign up for, no points to tally, no drawings to keep track of — just randomly-distributed instant prizes for doing what you do already.
Here's another user who expresses a common first reaction to Blingo:Okay, at first this seems like one of those annoying ad-infused search engines from the 2000 era where they promised they were giving away $1 million if you searched using their [ahem] website. But I came across it today via Komodo Media and decided to try it out.Thank you, gentlemen. Best of luck to you both. May you find what you're looking for and receive a nice surprise one day for your efforts.

No spam. Just good clean fun.

What Do You Need?
We had some fun with this one. A Blingo meme has been going around the blogosphere. A meme is, well, it's just a trend that seems to ricochet around the Internet. Who knows where this one started.
The idea is to enter "your name needs" into Blingo or Google — but stick your own first name in there — and see the funny results. Here are a few amusing examples that people have posted to their blogs:
• Debbie needs ...
• Adelle needs ...
• April needs ...
• Ali needs ...
Of course we had to try it ourselves. It turns out that...
Frank needs wheels.
Frank needs sensitivity training.
Frank needs to grow a spine.
Frank needs you!
And Rob needs a job.
Rob needs a refresher as to the meaning of purjury.
Rob needs 1 demonstrator in each room.
Rob needs to have a tooth removed.
Actually Blingo needs you to try it with your own name. Click here and here to see the Blingo searches we used. Try your own. Post the results to your web site, if you have one.
Enjoy!
Why Blingo works.
Many people ask "How can Blingo give away prizes?" This blogger provides a simple and accurate explanation:
Blingo operates based on advertising, and by offering incentives, they increase the traffic to their site. More traffic means more money, which makes Blingo happy. Random prizes, and the fact that Blingo is powered by Google makes users happy. Google is happy because they get a cut of the profit. Everyone is happy :-)
There's also a nifty little Firefox add-on and a few comments from recent winners. See the post here.
You're hired.
Well, not really, but I love this description of Blingo. I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks Mai.
Blingo hits the Blogosphere.
We're starting to notice a lot of people blogging about Blingo (thanks bloggers!). Check out this blog post from one of our winners - it has a picture of an actual Blingo Movie Ticket. Or, do a Blingo search on Technorati, a blog search engine.
