Have you seen the Blingo home page today? It looks like one of those days. Since early this morning we've given away nothing but iPod Nanos and Visa Gift Cards worth $100. Every Nano winner gets a choice of receiving the iPod or a $150 Visa Gift Card.

Last month Blingo would, every once in a while, give away a ton of prizes in a very short period of time. We called it a Blingo Frenzy, and you can read all about it here in the Buzz pages.

But this — a movie ticket every few minutes — has been going on all day long. And yesterday we gave away iPod Nanos and Visa Gift Cards worth $100 all day long.

Is it a Frenzy? Is it a Froonzy? Is it a Fonzie? We don't know, but if you happen to see another big day at Blingo, be sure your friends know about it, especially the ones who use the Internet. Most of our winners were just people looking for something on the Internet. They entered a search, took a brief detour to tell us where to send the prize, then went right back to their search results. The other winners were people who invited their friends to use Blingo. How's that work?

Happy Mother's Day, Blingo Moms! At about 1:50 this afternoon, Pacific Time, we gave away a Frenzy of $200 Visa Gift Cards to people who were searching on Blingo. We hope at least some of the 15 prizes went to moms, and maybe the other winners should treat mom to a fancy dinner.

And the Frenzy didn't stop until 19 big prizes had been given away in the course of 20 minutes. That's almost one every minute!

Whoa, we haven't mentioned a Blingo Frenzy here in the Buzz pages lately, but we had to tell you about the one we had this afternoon (or evening, for our East Coast Blingo-ers). Blingo gives away prizes all day every day, but sometimes — you never know when — we go a little nutty. A few days ago we decided to give away a ton of iPods (or $149 Visa Gift Cards, winner's choice) in a half hour.

Today we gave away 50 prizes in one hour. Most of them were Blingo Movie Tickets or iTunes Gift Certificates. Every winner got to choose. Which one would you pick? The Blingo Movie Ticket is good at tons of theaters across the country, and the iTunes Gift Certificate is good for 10 bucks worth of music or videos at the iTunes Music Store.

As you know Blingo has recently gone nuts, on three separate occasions! Last week we suddenly threw four fistfuls of movie tickets and iTunes at our users. Then on Monday we gave away a bunch of $100 Visa Gift Cards — fourteen of them, actually — in one hour.

And just this morning we gave away 48 movie tickets and iTunes gift certificates (as usual, we let each winner choose), and we packed all 48 prizes into a single hour. We gave the 48 prizes to people who were just going about their normal search business and to the lucky friends who invited them. That's how the Blingo Friends program works: tell a friend, reap the rewards.

By the way, did you notice the iPod Nano that was mixed in with those 48 tix-n-tunes? Hey! How'd that get in there? (The lucky Nano winner chose to receive a $149 Visa Gift Card instead. Fine with us. Just don't spend it all on pennywhistles and moon pies.)
